New Student Orientation

The Orientation Committee welcomes you to our campus community. We are delighted that you have chosen to attend Rutgers University-Camden. The New Student Orientation program is a mandatory experience that has several pieces:  two-day experience, online courses and activities during the first week of the semester. Your orientation experiences will help you not only learn about the many services and programs available to you as a Rutgers University-Camden student, but how these offerings can best guide your academic career. You will also have an opportunity to interact with student leaders and our faculty and staff.

The Rutgers University-Camden New Student Orientation Program is a dynamic and interactive set of sessions that give essential information, introduces concepts of college culture, language, and expectations, and assists students in navigating buildings, services, and resources available at Rutgers University-Camden. These programs include:

Online Orientation is a self-paced course in Canvas, a digital learning platform. Students must complete the course prior to their advising appointment. An email with detailed information and deadlines will be sent to students.

Advising & Registration Program takes place after a student has accepted their admission, completed all required placement tests, the registration form, and the Online Orientation. Students will have a virtual one-on-one appointment with their Academic Advisor via Zoom, a virtual meeting platform. ONSP will provide instructions on how to access. Students will be notified via email of their assigned date.

Everfi Online is a comprehensive prevention program for new students. Everfi consists of two online courses, AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention, which will educate students on alcohol abuse prevention, and sexual assault prevention. Students will also be required to complete the University online Academic Integrity Tutorial through Canvas, a digital learning platform. This information will be provided to students in August.

Welcome Week is a full week of fun events and programs that will introduce you to our many student leaders, staff, and services on campus.  You will have the opportunity to meet new people, learn more about the campus and the resources available to you, and ways to get involved virtually on campus.  We have a bunch of virtual events planned during this week to welcome you to the Fall 2021 Semester.  Please be sure to check back soon for the calendar of virtual events!
